2020 : more sustainable , customized and experiential trips

2020 : more sustainable , customized and experiential trips .

Tourism is expected to reach unprecedented levels this year, driven primarily by technology and a greater connection to travel destinations.

The year 2019 will be remembered for the bankruptcy of Thomas Cook, the sale of Air Europa and the merger of the issuing divisions of Globalia and Barceló, but it also leaves behind a good taste in our mouths: the Spanish have allocated a total of 18,361 million euros to international travel, an increase of 10.3% compared to the previous year. Furthermore, according to the recent conclusions of the Observatur study, the luxury travel segment is on the rise, being very dynamic and perfectly resistant to the cyclical episodes of the crisis experienced in Spain in recent years.

It is easy to see that there has been a change in the needs, desires and behaviour of the traveller. Luxury is no longer understood in the same way as in the past, it is reconceptualized and bets on natural destinations, on unique experiences,  products and services with standards that respond to sustainability. Concern for the environment is growing and is beginning to influence the choices of Spanish travellers, feeling increasingly responsible for the impact they generate during their travels and the mark they leave behind.
