As part of the Kenya Tourist Board’s annual activities, KTB Spain conducted a one-week sales mission to visit major markets in Madrid and Barcelona and meet with existing and potential tour operators and airlines.

What we’ve done

Since KTB was not physically present at FITUR in January 2016, the sales mission offered the visiting KTB delegation the opportunity to meet with the Spanish market. Thus, within the activities 20 meetings were organized in five days in both Madrid and Barcelona with airlines, tour operators and press to discuss how KTB could support the tour operators to have greater coverage.

Results: increased affinity with Kenya as well as knowledge of Kenya in more detail and communication of future plans of KTB activity at Spanish and global level. Positive messages were also conveyed regarding negative media coverage of the previous year due to terrorism and ebola, awareness of Kenya’s product diversity, highlighting new areas for development and introduction of new products, as well as awareness of the incentives offered by Kenya.
